We are committed to supporting the development of students and educators.

Several opportunities to visit, observe, reflect and learn with us are available.

Tours begin at our Ocean Park Campus and includes an introduction to our program, classrooms observations and Q&A. Participants enjoy lunch off-site and return to our Marine Park Campus and meet with our pedagogista, atelieristas and teachers to participate in the process we use to develop our curriculum. Each afternoon is designed to create an exchange between colleagues and develop an understanding of the featured topics. Students and fellow educators are welcome to join us!

Educator Tours are 9am to 3:30 and $70 per person

Upcoming 2017 Educator Tours

November 11, 2016
This presentation highlights a year-long investigation that began through the exploration of transformation through face paint and led to a class-wide inquiry of the relationships that exist within a community and social concepts that naturally unfold. The teacher’s quest was to unveil what children know and help them build new understanding through their shared experiences with one another and through an array of materials.
Presenters: Amy Dickens & Teresa Lezak, teachers

April 21, 2017
This presentation will highlight the foundations of cultivating a classroom community with young learners and families. We’ll review our systems, environments, agreements and ideas that build and sustain an engaged community where every member (young and not so young) have a valuable role.
Presenter: Christine Richard, teacher and SMC Adjunct Faculty member

June 9, 2017
This presentation highlights a variety of classroom explorations that have been relaunched through dramatic play, dance and design to gain a deeper understanding and expand the children’s perspectives. These parallel experiences expand children’s opportunities to connect with new ideas, concepts and opportunities.
Presenter: Ally Voye, atelierista and choreographer
